ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The onion plant has a fan of hollow, bluish-green leaves and its bulb at the base of the plant begins to swell when a certain day-length is reached. The bulbs are composed of shortened, compressed, underground stems surrounded by fleshy modified scale (leaves) that envelop a central bud at the tip of the stem.
Raw onions are very low in calories, with only 40 calories per 3.5 ounces (100 grams). By fresh weight, they are 89% water, 9% carbs, and 1.7% fiber, with tiny amounts of protein and fat.

STORAGE & USES
Store onions in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Maintain storage temperature of 45-55°F. Do not wrap onions in plastic or store in plastic bags. A lack of air circulation will reduce shelf life.
