Avarekai the winter specialty of Karnataka. Sogadu refers to the quality of the bean that is usually harvested in the month of December post the 15-20 of the month when the bean is at its best – in terms of size, aroma and flavour.

1 cup of Avarekai has 100mg of Sodium and 100 mg of potassium. Protein 8 g. vitamin A and C being 1%. Calcium 5% and Iron 1%


Storage and uses:

This can be stored in the refrigerator up to 4 days. This is used for preparing Sambar which can be consumed by 5 – 6 members.
